This is the story of Gertrude Poyitt, a woman who dared to be different, who dared to be true to herself, who dared to publish her ideas, who dared to have confidence in womankind. She was born at Sunny Corner (between Bathurst and Lithgow) in 1867. Became a school teacher. She died in 1950 and is buried at Sunny Corner.
She married two men, lived with a third and changed her name when writing to Wolla Meranda. Her books indude Toppies of the Night’; The Red River of Life’; ‘Light and Outer Darkness’.
