New Family History Centre

New research room & bookcases

As you will have been aware from the last issue of Carillon Chimes our Group are moving into a “new home”. The Bathurst Library was  refurbished last year which meant we had to remove our assets that had been accommodated there for over 30 years.

All our assets that had been temporarily stored in various members homes can now be relocated to these new premises, along with our over 1,000 books, computers, microfiche, etc.

New bookcases, chairs & tables, together with a scanner have been purchased with an establishment grant.

These new premises have already had Wi-Fi connected, which will enable members to use either their tablets, laptops or the Groups computers to connect to the internet.

The adjoining meeting room allowed the Group to have an informal morning tea followed by a DNA workshop.
