Kevin Webb, Sydmouth Valley.
Sydmouth Valley homestead was built by Robert Lowe in 1825 on a grant of 2,000 acres. Constructed by convict craftsmen, the house follows classic Georgian styling, with hand-made bricks, cedar joinery, and original architectural features still evident today.
Over the decades, the property passed through generations, with the Webb family acquiring Sydmouth Valley in the late 1800s. The cellar, orchard, and many original rooms remain as they were more than a century ago — offering a rare glimpse into early rural Australian life.
Today, Sydmouth Valley stands as one of the region’s most charming examples of preserved heritage living. ( Source: Sydmouth Valley webpage)
