The Rockley Manner

This book has eleven chapters covering aspects of the history of the village of Rockley and the surrounding district. this is followed by entries under the surnames of early families of the district.

The author apparently relied heavily on contributions from family historians. Several of my own connections are included and it is disappointing to see that the entries are riddled with incorrect details.

Nevertheless, this is a very useful book for family historians with an interest in the Rockley area.

The families featured include:
Ah Foo, Aldred, Amos, Arrow, Asimus, Baker, Barnes, Begley, Bell, Boyling, Branson, Brennan, Brown, Brownlow, Budden, Burge, Butler, Carr, Carroll, Cartwright, Cole, Cullen, Cunningham, Debelle, Dolbel, Doulman, Eade, Edwards, English, Fell, Feeney, Fitzgerald, Fleeting, Foran, Frogley, Fulton, Gentle, Glynn, Godden, Golsby, Hackney, Hanrahan, Hockey, Hocking, Hood, Johnson, Kable, Keightley, Kelly, Kennedy, Keogh, Knight, Laney, Larnach, Lewis, Linnane, Maloney, Mayberry, McGaw, McIntosh, McKenzie, McKibbin, McMahon, McNamara, McPhillamy, Miller, Mullins, Murphy, Nash, Nightingale, O'Neill, O'Rourke, O'Shea, Paton, Piggott, Pollett, Press, Quin, Roberts, Russell, Ryan, Sewell, Shea, Shore, Smith, Soden, Stanger, Stiff, Sturzaker, Sweetnam, Taylor, Terrey, Todd, Touzell, Wearne, Wilson, Wright.
