HISTORIC SOFALA 1851 - 1943 A GOLDFIELD THAT CHANGED A NATION

The aim of this book is not to give an academic history, but rather to present a brief account of some of the events that occurred during the evolution of the goldfield. By doing this, it is hoped that the reader will develop some feeling as to what it was like living at Sofala throughout its history.

There are the names of the men on three electoral rolls for Sofala - 1860/61; 1869/70; and 1878/79.
