William Grant Broughton became the first (and only) Anglican Bishop of Australia. Prior to his being consecrated Bishop the whole of the settled areas of Australia was in the Diocese of Calcutta, India, where the nearest Bishop resided. Australia was subsequently divided into separate dioceses. This booklet gives an account of the visits of Bishop Brought to the Bathurst districts and his provision for their spiritual well-being has been written as a tribute to the centenary of his arrival in 1836.Out of Print.
