The Family History Group of Bathurst Inc. was founded in 1985 by a small number of people who wanted to help each other to make progress with their family history research.
Bathurst is the oldest inland settlement in Australia and is located about 200 km west of Sydney. This map shows the approximate area we cover.
Details of our meetings and events are published in our journal 'Carillon Chimes' which is posted to all members and is available for download as a pdf file from this website. Formal meetings with a guest speaker and less formal research gatherings are held regularly by the Group.
All members have access to the group's extensive range of resources including books and journals, microfiche, microfilm and CD-ROMs. Some publications are available for open access in the library but only financial members can use the material stored in the locked cupboards. Financial members can also search cemetery indexes and other material that is available in the 'Members Only' section of this website.
